                                                        Audit & Accounting Manager

Compensation: $100,000-$130,000 per year. An exempt position with a yearly bonus.

Years of Experience: 6+ years of Accounting and 2+ years of Supervisory

Location: Santa Monica, CA

Shift: Full-Time, Monday-Friday




The A&A Manager is responsible for managing and supervising multiple engagements in a wide variety of industries, including SEC registrants, client relationships, managing assurance services (financial statement preparation, compilations, and audit and/or review projects), research technical accounting issues, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).

This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement to the right candidate. Job duties include:


•Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB rules and standards.

•Prepare engagement plans to ensure that the Firm’s assurance services are accomplished within budget, in accordance with the engagement plan, and meet client deadlines.

•Review audit, accounting, and reporting issues with the engagement supervisor and inform partners of engagement issues and proposed solutions.

•Review work papers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and accomplishment of engagement goals, overall support of the financial statements, and agreement with the Firm’s policies and procedures.

•Review, including preparation, of financial statements, and submit for final review. Discuss draft financial statements with clients and direct engagement supervisors in the review process.

•Consult, work with, and service client base to make recommendations on process improvement and serve as a business advisor to the client. Develop reportable conditions letter and effective suggestions and solutions.

•Review any special reports required for the engagement and submit for the final review.

•Ensure engagement compliance with the Firm’s quality control policies and with attestation standards established by the accounting profession and regulatory agencies.

•Mentor and counsel seniors and staff.

•Other duties as assigned

•Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites


Qualified Candidate Profile:

•CPA Certification REQUIRED (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related equivalent, Active CPA license).


•SEC/Public Company experience.

•6+ years of accounting experience within a public accounting firm, Big 4 experience a plus.

•Significant supervisory experience (2+ years), including experience in reviewing staff.

•Strong computer skills: proficiency in audit and accounting software, Excel, and Word (we are a paperless office).

•Strong research skills and problem-solving skills.

•Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices within any one or more of the following industries: real estate, manufacturing, construction, technology, investment and financial, entertainment, retail, apparel, or textiles, international.

•Excellent interpersonal, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.

•Integrity within a professional environment and a dedication to teamwork, leadership, and working collaboratively with staff and management.

•Overtime and weekends are required during established firm busy seasons.

                                                             Audit Senior Associate


Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 per year based on experience. Approximately $12,000-$15,000 in OT. (Based on 300 hours). Non-exempt position.

 Job Function Overview:

An Audit Senior Associate will plan and monitor large accounting engagements involving audited financial statements. He/she will perform risk analysis in the planning and execution of audits as well as analyze and research assignments involving materiality and interrelationships of statements. On behalf of our domestic and international clients, the Audit Senior Associate will:


• Review and analyze internal control methods and processes

• Prepare audit programs and financial statements

• Prepare management letters and develop cost-efficient financial reporting processes

• Review the work of other client service staff for accuracy and determine training and developmental needs

• Depending on the engagement, the Audit Senior Associate may supervise up to two other accountants.


Qualified Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related equivalent

• 3-5 years of accounting experience for a public accounting firm

• Working knowledge of accounting practices and principles in at least one of the following industries: real estate, construction, manufacturing, automotive, retail, technology, apparel and textiles, entertainment, importing/exporting, hospitality, and not-for-profit

• Self-starter with strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills who can interact with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally

• Integrity within a professional environment and a dedication to teamwork and leadership

• SEC experience a plus

• CPA certification or in progress is a plus.

                                                                          Staff Accountant

Compensation: $48,500 - $55,000

Years of Experience: 3 years of Accounting and Tax

Location: La Palma, CA

Shift: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The staff accountant is part of the tax and accounting department.  The individual for this position must be detailed oriented and have a high acumen for accounting and tax.  This position plays an integral role in the tax and accounting department by ensuring the client’s financial statements, payroll, income taxes, and various other tax forms are completed on time, accurately and in compliance with the law.  The individual who holds this position must be resourceful, team player, and able to research and jump-start a project.  The job duties are to be performed in alignment with the company's vision, financial objectives, and core values, maintaining customer service satisfaction at all service levels. This position requires knowledge of QuickBooks, Ultra Tax software, and Microsoft office. 


Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the Firm’s Office Manager and CEO


Tax Preparation/Tax Planning:

  • Prepare accurate federal, state, and multi-state income tax returns

  • Prepare client work papers

  • Follow Up on data request

  • Back up/organize client data to organizers

  • Enter client data in Ultra tax

  • Interview clients to gather tax information

  • Support senior staff


Bookkeeping/Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for clients according to generally accepted accounting principals

  • Acquire clients source documents (bank statements, credit card statements, pay pal and/or accounts as needed)

  • Properly journalize client’s payroll wages ensuring to separate out employer payroll taxes

  • Reconcile client’s monthly bank statement ensuring to account for all transactions

  • Properly set up the client’s chart of accounts in the case of a new company/business

  • Review/Analyze client’s books and records to determine discrepancies

  • Journalize book to tax adjustments as needed

  • Generate monthly variance analysis


Payroll Preparation:

  • Prepare client’s weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll manually or by using appropriate payroll software

  • Pay client’s payroll tax liabilities

  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns and timely file with reporting agencies

  • Setup a new payroll for new clients ensuring to gather all appropriate employee/employer documentation


Sales Tax Returns

  • Gather client’s taxable sales and non- taxable sales

  • Generate sales tax return and prepayments on behalf of the client

  • Pay client’s sales tax online or via check as requested by the client

  • Generate returns on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Knowledge of Ultra Tax a plus

  • Knowledge of QuickBooks desktop or QBO
